THANK YOU AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

“Christmas casts its glow upon us, as it does every year. And it reminds us that we need not feel lonely because we are loved, loved with the greatest love there has ever been or ever will be.” —Ronald Reagan

As I have often said, Christmas is about children in so many ways. I am blessed with two beautiful children and they remind me almost hourly that Christmas is about children. This Christmas we have read and watched The Polar Express daily for almost a month now. It is the story of a boy who, as he gets older, begins to lose his belief in the Magic of Christmas.

Throughout a series of dreamlike events aboard a magical train enroute to the North Pole to see Santa Claus, the young boy is transformed. He regains his belief in the things he cannot see. His imagination is restored and his faith in a greater good, which was tested by the skepticism that often accompanies age, is strengthened. One of life’s greatest challenges is to believe in those things that are not readily revealed. It is just that sort of hope that moves us to a spirit of giving and acts of charity.

So it is, and so it was as Three Wise Men followed a star. The star led them not to a place of plenty but to a place of abject poverty. These three Kings were transformed by their belief that there was a miracle just over the next hill. They forged onward and, like them and many since, like myself and many yet to come, they followed that star until they discovered the miracle that their faith had led them to.

In a world that has become increasingly defined by secularism and science, defined only by the things we can see and measure, it is important to recall that hope is the star we all follow, that the belief in miracles beckon us to.

It is in this spirit that I ask that during this season, whether you hope in a star of wonder or the lights of the Menorah, let your hope transform you, let your faith guide you. Most of all let the children inspire this spirit in you.

God bless and thank you for your support.
