I have an idea and I need your help. Let's renew the Reagan Revolution here in Maine's 1st District. Keeping consistent with the theme of my campaign, let's call it Reagan Revolution 2.0.
I was on WLOB this morning with Ray & Ted. On the segment before my appearance Ray issued a call to arms. He was on fire! His clarion call was simple: Republicans need to organize; more importantly we need to energize. This doesn't necessarily mean we take to protesting in the streets. It means it is high time we stand up and be heard. It means it is time for all concerned Republicans to get involved. Ray is absolutely right.
We need an equal and opposite response to the extraordinary organization that is a trademark of the Left. It means you need to get involved. If you're like me you feel the fatigue setting in as well. Let's face it - Republicans have had a tough go of it. All the more reason to fight!
Reagan once said "It's morning in America." Peggy Noonan, his former speech writer, recently suggested that we are entering the twilight of that day. Let's not squander the remaining daylight.
I stumbled upon Reagans' campaign announcement for Governor in 1966. The reporters asked him why he was running. In response Reagan said, "We've reached a period where the philosophical differences between our two parties are so great that it's high time for people from the rank and file of the citizenry to involve themselves so that we can have government of and by, and most of all for the people.” This was Reagan's clarion call. This is why I'm choosing to get involved. It's time we try to save the day that Ronald Reagan began.
